WHO ARE THESE LESSONS FOR?
We started swimming lessons because we found that after six years of operating Swim Dem Crew, many of our friends and extended friends still couldn’t swim. Our aim has been to create a safe space and learning environment, mainly for Black and Brown people that want to learn how to swim.
Our previous cohorts of lessons have crafted deep bonds as friends and become micro-communities of their own. We ask that our wishes for our own space are respected.
WHAT ARE THEY?
These lessons are for beginners and people that can't swim, the people that will sink in the deep end and that haven’t swum much before.
The total £150 fee covers your weekly lesson over 6 weeks and pool entry to each session.
SWIMMING ABILITY
These lessons will include people that have had some lessons before. Halfway through the sessions, after a few weeks, we will split the group by ability. Keeping the beginners together and having the improvers in their own section.
How DO THEY WORK?
The lessons are running each Thursday from 2nd May until 6th June . At the first session, all the swimmers will be assessed and then the teachers will create a plan for their swimmers to follow. The teachers are the co-founders of Swim Dem Crew and are fully qualified swimming teachers with experience.
Swim Dem lessons are different from normal swimming lessons. A teacher will be in the water with you at all times, there will be a family atmosphere within the group and you will be encouraged to support each other throughout the lessons.

Stratford Aquatics Centre, Olympic Park, London, E20 2ZQ.
WHAT TIME ARE THEY?
Thursdays, 7:00 - 8:00pm. Meet in reception for 6:45pm.
