WHO ARE THESE SESSIONS FOR?

We started swimming lessons and improver sessions because we found that after six years of operating Swim Dem Crew, many of our friends and extended friends still couldn’t swim. Our aim has been to create a safe space and learning environment, for people of colour that want to learn how to swim.

Our previous cohorts of lessons have crafted deep bonds as friends and become micro-communities of their own. We ask that our wishes for our safe own space are respected.

WHAT ARE THEY?

These sessions are for swimmers that can confidently swim up to 25 metres in a pool on their front and back in recognised strokes like Front Crawl and Backstroke.

The first cohort is a 5 week trial session at a reduced rate of £80. This fee includes your entry to the pool.

Your lessons are non-transferrable to other cohorts, and there are no refunds to not being able to attend a lesson. It is your responsibility to be available to attend lessons.

HOW DO THEY WORK?

The sessions are running each Tuesday 22nd July for five weeks until 19th August.

At the first session, all the swimmers will be assessed and then the coach will create a plan for their swimmers to follow. The teachers are trusted by the co-founders of Swim Dem Crew and are qualified swimming teachers with years of experience.

Swim Dem sessions are different from normal swimming sessions. There will be a family atmosphere within the group and you will be encouraged to support each other throughout the lessons.
